The fourth deadliest earthquake in history (according to the United States Geological Survey) was Aleppo earthquake. It was an earthquake that was located near the town of Aleppo in northern Syria on 11 October 1138. Body count: 230,000.

Taejo of Joseon was born on 11 October, 1335. His birth name was Yi Seong-gye, later changed to Yi Dan. He was the founder and the first king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea, and the main figure in overthrowing the Goryeo Dynasty. He died on May 24, 1408. However he was posthumously raised to the rank of Emperor in 1899.

Lester Bowie was born on 11 October, 1941. He was an American jazz trumpet player and composer.
